Inspired by silicone wound dressings, Restorative Balm is a blend of synthetic emollients, petrolatum and medical-grade silicone gel polymers that create a breathable liquid membrane to protect your skin while it heals. Being “breathable” is important because if your injury was completely covered, it could lead to wound maceration. This is when your skin starts to degrade from being too wet, something that can hamper healing and lead to inflammation and infection.

There’s another reason why Restorative Balm – our new breathable barrier – is the way to go. It allows for hyaluronic acid production at the surface of your wound. This is essential for the creation of new, healthy fibroblasts and keratinocytes to grow across the surface of your skin while your epidermal-dermal matrix knits itself back together again. Getting this moisture balance just right is vital because if your wound is too dry or too wet, the reparative process won’t be able to perform at its best.

Last but not least, because Restorative Balm is anhydrous (water-free), it has practically no pH, so you can apply it without bracing yourself for a sting, burn or irritation!

Balm. Damaged skin types.

Lamelle Restorative Balm is specifically indicated to heal and repair the injuries that affect the full epidermis and even into the papillary dermis. Restorative balm is an anhydrous balm/dressing that provides protection to the injured layers of the skin, it traps water decreasing the trans epidermal water loss (TEWL) associated with these types of injuries and it has virtually no pH. All this while allowing the skin to “breath”. This ensures faster healing without any adverse reactions or sensations.

Any treatments that leaves the epidermis compromised to the point where applied products irritate and burn and TEWL is increased– e.g. arc-plasma, permanent make-up, laser tattoo removal
Augmented Beta Peel – medium depth peels
Fractional and non-fractional ablative laser
Aggressive micro-dermabrasion and CIT treatments such as Dermapen
